Trent Jones and I hit up Gravelly at 5AM on Friday morning to catch the outgoing tide. It was like old times for sure! The Striper bite was on until the sun rose after which the Smallie action heated up. We also managed a few small White Perch and saw plenty of Gar rolling but couldn't get them to grab. Most of the baitfish we saw being chased to the surface were small, so when I switched from a 1/0 Clouser to a #4 my number of takes increased significantly.
By far though, the catch(s) of the day were Trent's. He got not one but two carp - both on Clousers, and both on the swing!!! I suppose it just goes to show what good things can come when you rise early and toss a Clouser in the TP!
