Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Hammock camping

Use those back warming patches for sore muscles. Hit water bottle like the old days. Old fashioned trick for warm pockets was to put a hot, hard boiled egg in there.

Layer up and have a warm hat or balaclava.

A foam pad will work. A lot of people cut them into a more rounded shape so they fit better in the hammock. What you really need is an under quilt that hangs on the outside bottom of the hammock. But that's going to cost some money.

Hey everybody,

I've done some hammock camping before, but never below 50 or 60 degrees. I'm gearing up for my Wyoming trip next week where it will be in the 40s and 30s even at night. Any tips on staying warm in a hammock? Do foam pads do the trick?

Any advice is welcome. We will have a tent as a backup option but I'm just curious if anybody has experience.

Will
