Furled leaders seem to have a lot of fans -- I generally shy away from them because it appears that the heavier "butt" section that comprises the entire furled leader would resist sinking, which is counterproductive to how I usually fish. Since I assume most people fishing furled leaders are dry fly fishing, I doubt this is a concern to most.

Seems like an easy and cheap way to build some leaders during the "thunder snow". I was pretty surprised how well it worked.
