{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Rappahnanock 4/7

I was a volunteer to assist with both the morning and afternoon sessions of the Orvis trip.  The run was pretty strong all day long.  Apparently it got even stronger after 4pm, based on a report from a Falmouth Flats Fly Fishers member.  We were blessed with great weather and light angling pressure by comparison for a Sunday.  Word must have got out as the beach was overcrowded on Monday!  Gregg Rockett

The Rapp fished decently for shad this past weekend as I tagged along for an Orvis Shadfest trip.  Water levels dropping steadily, moderate clarity.  We waded in at Falmouth.

My highlight was a 20" American which was a lot of work even on my 8wt.  I've since learned this was a unicorn experience as the Rapp is a mostly hickory shad river.
