While I was in St Pete in April, I bought a Pelican Angler kayak at Dicks, and used it all over the salt water down there. Its very lightweight (32 lbs), stable (I was out in some high winds and it managed it and the associated swells well) and usable. Waterproof compartment on the back, good foot pedals. Easy to paddle, and tracks well without a rudder. I added a rope/chain anchor that held it well.
$540 or thereabouts. I can dig up the exact model if someone wants. Yellowish on top, white hull.

You ought to take a look at a Goboat. It's inflatable and comes with a trolling motor. It's round, so it provides a very stable platform for fly fishing. https://goboat.com--BobOn Thu, Apr 11, 2024 at 5:31 PM Brookes Outdoors <brookes...@gmail.com> wrote:Thinking about maybe getting a fly fishing kayak for a coup[le hours of fishing on the likes of Burke Lake, Gunston Cove (off Potomac), maybe drifting Shenandoah River/South Fork…I'm happy to paddle so a drive system isn't necessary; don't need a lot of storage/bells&whistles; don't want to spend a lot; portability important (light weight); generous stand-up casting platform.I kinda like some of the hybrid sit-on/stand-up kayaks, which have a large deck for casting—but they have pretty low freeboard, more like a SUP…Any thoughts/recommendations?Thx,Pete--
