TPFR members, do you have this Thursday morning available?
Volunteers are needed to assist with a 4MR kid fishing clinic.
The Four Mile Run Conservatory Foundation will be holding its first youth fishing clinic on Thursday, July 23 from 9-11:30 at Four Mile Run Park in Alexandria, VA. There will be 15-20 middle school age youth from Community Lodgings' summer program, most of whom have not fished before. They are using youth spin rods (5.5-foot, spin/underspin reels, with a slip bobber and artificial bait). And they will be observing strict COVID-19 protocols as issued by the City of Alexandria for recreational activities.
This fishing activity is just one component of their Nature Explorers and Restorers (NEAR) youth program. Please look at their website for more information about their work at Lower Four Mile Run. https://www.fourmilerun.org/
Reach out to Kurt Moser (kmoser@fourmilerun.org) to let him know you can help.
Volunteers will meet at 9 AM in the 4MR Mt. Vernon Street bridge parking lot.
This is obviously an individual decision as it is not an official TPFR chapter function.
Thank you in advance for your assistance with this request.
