Patrick,
this might be near the drive forever end of the continuum. The 2-mile trout catch and release area of the South River passes through downtown Waynesboro. It is spring-fed.
Fish it early in the morning or very late in the afternoon. Give South River Fly Shop a shout and they can advise you on the finer details.

--Friends - Its been about 4 years since I've had this chance. My kids and wife are at my inlaws for the weekend and I have the car. Any advice, suggestions for where to fish? I would like to try for trout, still never caught one on the fly, but just excited to fish somewhere AND catch something there. Happy to wade and drive a bit (no need to drive forever though). Given schedules and transportation options, I've been fishing 4MR, Fletchers, Duck Pond, Tidal Basin over the last 4 years. Thanks for the help and advice!Patrick
