Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Bluegill in Olde Izaak Walton Park Pond in Leesburg?

Not sure it's the same place. Year ago it held fish when helping with a merit badge program. There was a locked gate controlling access to the IWL area and the pond.

Any recent intel on this pond? I'm thinking of checking it out this weekend if it's open. Thanks

I'm planning to take my 3yo son fishing for the first time this weekend. Was hoping to get into some bluegill. I had success at Olde Izaak Walton Park in Leesburg years ago when first learning to cast a fly, but haven't been back in 5+ years.

Does anyone know if the pond still holds fish? Or fished it recently?

Any other suggested spots in/around downtown Leesburg?

Thanks!
