{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Burke Lake....

I had a couple of people mention that it might be a chain pickerel, should have taken a picture.  I didn't know they were in Burke, so gravitated to what I knew was in there.  Thanks.

Burke Lake was noticeably fishier on Saturday than anytime I've been there in the last 5 years.  I kayaked around for 3 hours and caught 6 species of fish on small clousers (bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill, pumpkinseed, and a juvenile (10") tiger musky (I'm assuming, I don't think there are any Northern Pike in the lake).  Bluegills were big and numerous, and a surprising number of crappies (15+)).  Catfish was about 3lbs, and a real rod bender.  Fishing access down by the dam is great, kudos to Virginia Fish and Game.
