{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: policing the potomac

I've seen a lot of people (especially at night) with nets and spears...  they are going after snake heads.

Many of the people are asian men.  In some asian cultures the snake head is very revered, and believed to have healing qualities when cooked into a soup.

So, it's possible that the person with a spear was after snake heads -- which is an invasive species that anglers are encouraged to kill.

I've seen at least 1/2 dozen nice sneak heads taken out of the fast running waters by the chain bridge.

If someone sees another someone heading down to the river with a home-fashioned spear, what should that someone do? Is there a number to call? Is it worth it?
