Alright, it's been a couple years since I saw a post on this so I figured I would launch another thread to see if anything has changed. I'm still relatively new to the area, been in SOMD since Jan 2016, I missed out on the stripers last year (didn't even know about the run) and I want to try catch it this year. I understand it happens in April/early May, obviously depends on conditions (water temp, return of forage, etc.) and I will be watching that closely to ensure I am available when conditions are right. What I need to know, is where the best place to launch my 'yak is and if anyone has experience targeting these big girls from a 'yak with a fly rod? I'd love to take a ride behind a 40 pounder! Any light you guys can shed on this is greatly appreciated.
Hell, if no one has done it, maybe I'll try set up a guided trip to get the lay of the land...anyone up for splitting a trip?
Thanks for the info,
Trevor
