Here's my annual warning for newcomers. Respect the Potomac. People die in it every year. When the Little falls gauge is above 4, be aware of it.
If its at 10ft, it's worth going down to the Little Falls overlook just to see it roar through (if the walkway isn't flooded out), but don't try to fish it.
We've had some great springs for the past few years with relatively low flows, but there are some years that the river is above 5ft for much of the shad run.
