You can pick up spare spools for Medalists on eBay practically every day. Bamboo can fange from stiff to noodlely depending on the tapers and whether it's made well or poorly. Well made rods will alway feel alive regardless of the taper. In that regard well made glass rods have a similar quality. Graphite feels dead in comparison. That's not knocking graphite. It's just what you'll notice when comparing the three materials. I fish all three and the feedback you get from casting glass and grass is more pronounced than graphite. it's easier felt than explained.
