My family is going to be on the cruise this month and it will stop at Nassau and Freeport. I might bring my fly rods to here and fishing for a couple hours. I emailed to Bahamas - Department of Marine Resources and I got it back.
Dear Mr. Lin,
I refer to your e-mail on the captioned above subject matter.
Please be advised that no permit is needed presently. Changes that would lead to a permit being required are now being considered. No date is known for the conclusion of this process.
I surfed Internet to find a place I can do fly fishing in two areas as DIY. But I found the link...
http://www.ginkandgasoline.com/saltwater-fly-fishing/is-flats-fishing-in-the-bahamas-over/
The link was 2015 but I am confused. I wont mind to pay for the $30 fishing license (I couldn't find a link that will let me to purchase a license) but the email from Department of Marine Resources said no need it.
Can anyone to warn me about the regulation or something that I should know?
Thanks
Richard
