I caught this Muskie fishing in the Tidal Potomac within a mile of the Lincoln and Washington Monuments over the weekend. There were gar and snakehead crashing the water all over but nothing was interested in any fly or lure I threw at them.  Slowly circling a cove I was using a popper to catch small bass and bluegill.  Every once in a while I was throwing out a large double blade spinner bait with paddle tail trailer to the distant crashes.  This fish hit like a freight train and even jumped out of the water! When it jumped I truly had no idea what it could be.  When I finally got it to the boat I about flipped out.  I knew unless I got a ton of pictures no one was going to believe that I pulled a Muskie out of the Tidal Potomac. The Muskie was 28 inches long.
