Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Micro-nymphing question

Any nymphing for smaller trout I do.  I just put a few feet of 15lb fluro, few feet of 8lb, length of 4lb depends on the depth im trying to fish, tippet ring or super small barrel swivel, then appropriate sized tippet.  6x and 7x should fit fine, but could co all the way to 10x depending how spooky the fish are. i keep all split shot above barrel swivel and keep the indicator on the 8lb or 4lb sections.any variety of knots work.

I'm considering investing in some size 28 nymphs. Will 7x tippet be small enough, or will I need to go to 8x? I was thinking of fishing a 6x leader, tying some 7x on the end, and putting a few small split shots on the 6x part, so I don't snap the 7x. Sound like a good plan?
