Quick report on the Rose River.
-- I enjoyed a day on the Rose this past Thursday. Drove to the end of the road and parked at the trail head up the Rose into the park. The Rose is one of the biger streams/ rivers in the park. There was plenty of water coming down and the day started off a little chilly.Fishing was a little slow at first then I started to see some bugs come off after noon. My origional offering of the standard #14 Mr. Rapidan got a few looks but not consistant. I took better notice of the hatch and realized the smaller quill Gordans were coming off. A switch to a 16 Gordan and the fishing was on. Very challanging to see the fly however. Caught several Brookies the rest of the day and one brown. Wasn't sure about what to do with the brown. I think I was supposed to remove it, but didn't have the heart. He lives for another day.
