{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Trip Report - Jupiter, FL

Spent last weekend in the Palm Beach area with the intent of hitting some spring training games, but thanks to the lockout, no dice. I did, however, get to go out for a night fishing trip with Capt. Dino Torino (https://onlyonafly.com/)

We launched out of Jupiter at 6:30pm, and made our way up the Loxahatchee River - Dino knows it like the back of his hand, seemed like he knew half the houses/owners as we worked. Fishing was focused totally on dock lights, either above water or submerged. First or second spot in, I broke the skunk with a Lookdown (Moonfish), followed fairly quickly by a small Fat snook (literally had no idea there were different snook species until this trip). Action was sporadic to start, but as the tide got moving, things picked up, as did the size of the fish. Picked up several more snook, plus a small jack and some ladyfish.

I am not going to win any awards for my strike-to-landed conversion rate on this trip, but  there were tons of eats, I would say more than half the lights we hit I had some kind of strike. highlight was a couple of absolutely wild visual strikes from a group of fish hanging around in a light off the back of a yacht.  

Super fun night, great guide. Highly recommend if you're heading that way.
