There should be big tarpon in Stono inlet this time of year along with plenty of sharks and drum. Not exactly 8-weight quarry but folks do occasionally catch them on flies in those low country inlets. Mostly a bait fishing proposition. I'm not speaking from experience just been researching a trip down that way myself. Found several good articles surfing the net.
