{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Donating gear to local charity

Robin, Please accept my deepest condolence on the passing of Bryan.  For many years Bryan would drop over to the Arlington Orvis store during his lunch hour since he worked nearby.  I always looked forward to his visits when we would exchange fishing stories.  When he stopped coming over his absence did not go unnoticed.  Those of us who had been at the store for a while and knew Bryan would ask if anyone had seen Bryan recently.  Some of us surmised that maybe he had changed jobs or relocated.  Now, unfortunately, I know why he stopped dropping by.  His absence at Orvis Arlington will continue to be missed.

As other have mentioned there are a number of local non-profit organizations that I'm sure that would appreciate receiving Bryan's fishing gear.  Organizations such as Project Healing Water, Wounded Warrior Project and Frogman Outdoors are excellent organizations that help wounded military personnel through fishing are always looking for donated fishing gear.  Casting for Recovery helps cancer survivors through fishing is another excellent organization.

You can reach out to our store for the names and phone numbers of POC for each of these local organizations.

Again, my deepest condolence on the passing of our friend Bryan.

Hello,

I'm posting this message using my husband's email. He was a member of your group. Unfortunately Bryan passed away at the end of June after a short but brutal battle with cancer.

He left some fly fishing gear behind. And before he died he expressed his desire to have his stuff donated to a charity that helps veterans get on the water and do some fishing. He instructed me to post here to get advice about charities and contact info.

I would appreciate it if someone on this loop could send me in the right direction.

Many thanks

Robin Lanier
