Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Holmes and Accotink stocking

Meant to add:  I do not fish the delayed harvest section of either stream as part protest, and part because I live downstream and don't feel like walking up there.

So, there are some fish that move to sections beyond the regulated portion if you want to save 23 bucks (or whatever it is this year).

There are -- I caught 2 rainbows there a couple of weeks ago (and generally do this time of year) while fishing for other things.

DGIF stockings of those 2 streams (at least from 2012 - present) are hit-and-miss, often not documented well, both with stockings happening without being mentioned on the website, and also with stockings being mentioned, but not actually having been done.  To their credit, they have in years past stocked some very large fish and are generally quick to respond to questions.

Of course, I feel that stocking trout in these streams and charging people money to go fish for them is a questionable practice, but most people seem to feel that all things "trout" = "good", regardless of circumstance.

In the end, they probably all die by late June/July, so whatever.

Both streams were scheduled to be stocked February 15th and April 12th.  I can't verify they were actually stocked on those dates, but there are fish in Accotink.

I have no info on the stockings, but water temps should still be fine for a while - even the Potomac is only 59-60 degrees right now.
