Thanks for all of the info. I'm a newbee with a fly rod. I spent two hours this morning casting from the rocks between chain bridge and the c&o lock #5. When the sun started to hit the water.....about 8:45, the river absolutly began to boil with shad.....witnessing that migration first hand and landing a dozen shad was solid and humbling. had the place to myself.....
Careful out there.....that water is moving!
Oh, i caught two or three on a fly that i tied at the February
meeting.
