You can access the Potomac at Fletchers Cove or Chain Bridge (about a mile away). There is shore access at both spots and you can rent a boat at Fletchers.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I am from Issaquah, WA (short distance from Redmond) but am in DC currently on family vacation. When will you be in WA? The fishing right now isn't great... steelhead and salmon runs have been low. Winter steelhead is just winding down. For trout fishing, the Yakima is usually good but recent reports have it blown out. I've heard searun cutthroat have been good from shore in the salt.Let me know your dates. Maybe I can show you something. Also, if you are availablw in the next couple days to show mw how to fish the Potomac, I'd appreciate it. I just really need to know where to access it. I brought my 7wt spey.
