I've been a bit slower at introducing Earth's biology to Graham than I thought I would be, but he's finally getting to the "very much alert and interested" stage now. Since we had no other obligations and no family in town, we finally got out and did some fishing for the first time in a while now. We opted to take him to a place I haven't fished since about 2011 or so, and it was good to see that things hadn't changed a bit! I hope no one objects, as today's fishing did NOT include the use of fly tackle.
-- Caught 5 carp, with most in the 8-12 pound class and 1 bigger one (aka, a "BFC") of 20+ pounds. Also caught several catfish of decent size, and a nasty snail somehow.
Graham was more interested in playing with the drawstrings on Beth's jacket, but I personally feel that he totally digs fish up-close. I understand that bluegill fishing can be great because you can put 1-2 in a 5-gal bucket so they can sort of interact with them. I'll probably do that soon.
There's no way in heck I'll be able to do the shad this year, so I hope you guys are tearing it up!
