Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Constitution Gardens Pond Fish Kill

Thanks Carl.  This could also be another answer to Bobby's question about bluegill ponds to fish around DC.  Not quite as far as the Tidal Basin and accessible (kind of) from the Red Line.

Josh,

Family and Youth Casting Call is scheduled there on May 20th, so I would assume there are or will be fish.

Subject: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Constitution Gardens Pond Fish Kill

I was wondering if anyone knows if they restocked the pond or if any fish survived after the fish kill last summer.  CG is not far from my office and I thought it would be a good place to practice my roll cast during lunch if anything survived. I figure they might not have worried to restock it if they plan to drain it at some point soon as part of Phase II of the redevelopment plan.

Thanks,

Josh

What have folks caught in there in the past.  I run by it everyday...but is it worth throwing a fly into?

The good news is that the NPS has a plan to renovate the pond, digging it down to 12 feet, to prevent this from happening again.
