I don't know if I'll be able to make it, but I wanted to ditto what everyone else has said.  John is a nice guy, great teacher, and will surely be missed.  The first time I picked up a fly rod (given to me by a family member) was at one of the casting clinics and John quickly demonstrated that the rod did indeed cast just fine, despite my insistence at the time.

Our VP JB, nope--not Joe Biden but John Bilotta, is unfortunately moving away from the DC area next month and we'd like to send him off with one of his own famous Casting Churches at Fletcher's Boat House next Sunday, February 28 from 8:30AM-11AM. Bring out your single and double handed rods, and we'll offer free instruction on casting--just head to the bottom parking lot and look for crazy folks casting in the grass. I'm still working on a roster of instructors, but I already have a few committed and very capable hands on deck.

John is a IFFF Master Certified Casting Instructor, a designation held by only the finest instructors, and has held many free casting clinics for our members over the years, contributing hundreds of hours of free instruction. Under John (and Dan's) tutelage Trent Jones, Andy Manley, Langston White, Lee Butler, Carl Zmola and myslef have all become Certified Casting Instructors, and I know we couldn't have done it without him.

I'll be picking up a few dozen donuts and some jugs of coffee for refreshment.

John, thanks for all of your service and leadership over the years--we know it will be impossible to replace you!
