A friend and I fished Holmes Run yesterday with some success. I hooked into three fish and landed two. Tough day of fishing. We targeted deep pools and drifted copper johns/buggers painfully slow. Although we landed a couple good fish, I was very concerned with their appearance. Both fish had multiple mutilated or missing fins, several abrasions and seemed very skinny despite the impressive fight that they both put up. These trout certainly struggle to thrive in this creek. The two of us also passed by another two fly fishermen on our way out.
Tight lines, friends.
