{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Where to go? SW Virgina, NW North Carolina Trout

Whitetop is a pretty sweet stream but in the two times I've fished it, the first was years ago when I didn't know what I was doing and it was full of leaves in the fall, and the second time it was blown out, so I've never had much success there.  It seems like it has miles of awesome water though. I'd also recommend checking out its tributaries.  Not sure what you're fishing for, but if you're willing to go into some of the smaller mountain streams, they get much less pressure.

Driving to Boone from DC will have maybe 4 hours to fish, would prefer SW virgina rather than across the border so i don't need to buy another license.

Any suggestions? Is whitetop laurel creek a good spot?
