{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Praise for sinking polyleaders

I think those "little guys" are river herring.  They come in with the high tide.  Many folks have had a difficult time catching them, mainly because they aren't feeding.

Got to go to the Tidal Basin today.  I tried out my new 10' extra super fast sinking poly leader.  I gotta say I'm a big fan already.  It obviously sinks really well, but it also casts fantastically.  Let's you roll cast like a hero.  If you haven't used one go get some and try it out.

I saw a whole bunch of the little guys in the second photo doing laps around the edge, but I couldn't get any to bite any fly.  They would just bump right into it and keep going.  Any tips on catching these?
