You know? This is the only the 3rd fishing story I've ever enjoyed reading I think. I generally can't stand reading long, obnoxious hero fishing stories because they kind of sound like that one friend you have who plays in a really crappy garage band who talks about "this great demo tape" and goes on and on about the band, etc.
-- In my 20s I could mutter "uh huh" and deal with it. Now, I'd rather fall into an open sewer and die.
This story isn't too long, sounds honest and believable, and doesn't mention that g'd--n "Cheshire grin"! I like it.
