For the Rapidan. I love to fish the parts in the Rapidan WMA and the SNP. As you drive into the WMA you drop down on the stream with it on your left. The stream weaves in and out of the SNP and the WMA. As you drive along, The 3 landmarks a lot of people use are the first and 2nd bridge and the parking lot before the SNP. Up til the first bridge any car with clearance is safe. I dont take anything less then a truck past the first bridge, it just is a rough road. Up past the 2nd bridge, there are numbers on the trees marking different camp sites. I like fishing from spot 10 up till the SNP boundary, but the whole area has fish and is scenic. Once you are inside the SNP area, the stream gets small, as do the fish. There is a great book on the rapidan written by switch fisher. I forget his actual name, but if you Google that you will find it. I have accumilated a few of his books, they are a great reference the first time im on a new stream. I hope the mention of a the book doesn't cross any boundaries, if it does I apologize.
Thanks,

After about 1/2 mile you will also come upon a little spot on your left that you can camp and have a fire if you're so inclined. I have not driven further than the first area, but some locals told my friend and I that there is another parking area upstream with some good pools. I'm not sure what kind of car you drive, but the road leading you out there is narrow, dirt, and steep at times so I recommend at least going out with something that has decent ground clearance. Other than that, keep a look out for bears and bring a headlamp, the forest is dense and it gets dark quick out there.
