{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Abaco Islands photos

Returned last week from a rendezvous with friends at Abaco Islands. We live far apart, so we meet up where we can fish. The bone fishing was awesome. The bonefish weren't too picky with flies, just incredibly spooky. Long casts, and long leads (not leaders) were necessary. We saw two permit, but did not get a cast to them before they spooked. There were small sharks everywhere, and I lost two bones to them, and a jack to a cuda. We mixed it up by fishing for dinner in the afternoons, and caught around a dozen different species of fish. The cuda was taken on an 8 wt rod, which was insane.

FYI--Some flats can be reached without a boat or guide and they are as good as any.

Cheers,
-robert
