Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} BEER TIE - Mon 15 Aug

Whitlows is reopening in DC which does us no good.

I won't be able to make this beer tie. Next month I plan on having Misty Dhillon join me. He will demonstrate flies for Golden Mahseer. He uses a lot of steelhead fly techniques including shanks with trailer hooks and metal tube/beads to sink the flies.

Great fish Regan. I won't comment on the rod on the shoulder.

Couldn't resist not commenting on the rod on shoulder.

Monday 15 August will be our Beer-Tie at Colony Grill.

I was out in the Chesapeake Bay on Sunday, fishing with Chris Newsome of Bay Flyfishing, and late in the morning I caught this redfish (see attached) 30in, 12-13lb on the fly.  A personal best for myself. Most satisfying to have threaded a cast thru and under the dock to the other side and have this fish take. Incredibly powerful, tried so very hard to run back into the pilings and break me off.

Come on out and meet your fellow anglers, bring your fly tying material and your fly tying questions.

Festivities begin at 7pm.

See you there.
