I'm probably not the only fly angler whose back rebels at the rock hopping required upstream of Fletcher's.

Does anyone have ideas on wading spots (in addition to the Deer Creek-area and anywhere from VA to Delaware) for shad that can be accessed without rock hopping. Hiking in is fine and perhaps even preferable -- just need spots that do not require getting across large rocks to reach casting distance.

Wait for the boathouse to open and rent a boat.  You have to row, but it's much safer than that wading and rock hopping.
