{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: NCC-TU, TPFR and CCA-MD Present the 2018 Tidal Potomac Slam Fishing Tournament

Thanks for the replies Andrew!

No worries on the lagoon, figured it was a stretch. I've occasionally encountered walleye and gar over there so I was eyeing it up for the wild card category.

As for catfish I don't have the gear to go after them from boats on "fly gear" but I am going to try to get a big one on heavy spin tackle. We'll see how it goes!

Oh and yeah the Lagoon isn't part of the tournament, the main-stem only this year. We may expand the boundaries next year, depending.

Hey everyone,

Very excited to be putting this on with TPFR. Let me answer both questions:

1) Spin lures ("jiggums") on a fly rod would be considered for the fly fishing division, though that certainly is a grey area.

2) No fish species are excluded. 50 lb blue cats are fair game.

Hope to see everyone on the river this spring and please sign up to support a great cause!

Tight Lines,

I'm going to defer to Andrew on rule specifics, who I think is doing his best to break some Echo rods in Belize but he'll be back in a couple days.
