Finally put my kayak in the water yesterday, opting for Daniels in Patapsco Valley State Park rather than the C&O Canal.
-- Didn't look too promising given all the siltation behind the dam and how shallow much of the Patapsco is in this section. I pressed on for about an hour where the water had cleared and had a bit of flow to it. Casting to the steeper banks I caught many strong and colorful sunfish and landed but one smallmouth bass. Instead of my 6 weight, I ought to have brought a 3 or 4 weight. Will nee to restock after wreckin 3 Snowhite Damsels and a couple of dayglo-orange mop flies.
I'll go back sometime but during the week. I lucked out getting a space to park at the put-in. The people pulling out when I got there said it's very popular on hot, sunny weekends. When I returned there were many cars parked along the road despite the signage and probably because of lack of enforcement..
