Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Nice Weekend Coming Up

That's great to hear.  I'm attaching a photo of what pretty much everything looked like last year.  That's also a great point on the poaching.  Harder to do it with more eyes on you.

Ive been to holmes run a few times in the last few weeks. I have gotten 2 or 3 takes, but that is it. That area is heavily poached, but there are one or 2 left in the first pool after the damn and maybe one or two in some other places in the creek. Rumor is that there is a nice sized brown hanging out in the pool between the first and second stream crossing, but I have never seen it.

Also heard the rumor that there MAY be a sticking of Holmes Run and Accotink in the near future, although I dont know how reliable that info is. Good luck!

I've been fishing on 4 Mile Run when I can get out of work (or if its a little warmer, on the weekends).  Good amount of pressure from spin anglers, but I've seen them mostly by the subway/US 1 bridges to the east.  I've seen two other fly fishermen the two times I've gone.

I had a nice day where I caught 8 bluegill off a Chernobyl ant, and another day I caught 2 large-mouth bass off a Wooley Bugger.  If you see me out there, I'm the new guy who has casting problems, but I'm doing my best to work through them!

I might be out there Saturday, but I'm also learning to the Accotink (I haven't been there yet, so it'd be fun to scout it out).  I've been to Holmes Run, but I went earlier in the winter and haven't been back.

I was considering Accotink or Holmes Run, but I wasn't sure how many fish will have persisted since the VDFG stocked the streams in October.  Does anyone have any experience with Four Mile Run in the winter? I thought I might try to hit up the warm water output during low tide.

If anyone goes this weekend, I'd love to hear if there are any fish left.  They way they get poached at Holmes I've been too pessimistic to check it out myself.

Saturday looks to be the best now. I was thinking of either Accotink or Holmes Run. MIght be some hold overs from the fall stocking.

It looks like it is going to be pretty nice this weekend and I am itching to get out and fish.  Does anyone have any ideas within an hour or so of DC? I don't think I'll have all day, but I would like to get out for a couple of hours during the warmth of the day on either Saturday or Sunday.  Thanks in advance for the help!
