I rarely swing flies for bass, mainly because I don't think it is the most effective approach. Assuming you are using streamers, adding some action always seems to be more effective. I have never really fished for bass early in the year, but I wonder if just a swing would work better then.
-- I am assuming that when you say swing you are talking about fishing the typical down and across like you would for steelhead.
