{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Anacostia River

I've seen several threads recently aksing about fishing in the Anacostia.  Since I live on the hill and commute through Anacostia Park everyday on my bike I thought I would go give it a try Saturday evening.  Unfortunately, this water was some of the nastiest I've encountered.  I parked across from the Navy Yard in Anacostia Park and fished along the concrete/rock wall for a ways to the right.  If the tide is out, it's easy to walk along the wall behind the trees and fish.  However, there is so much garbage it's just not worth it.  Not to mention, after about five cast my hands were sticky from something off the water.  The only positive was that it didn't smell that bad.  It's a nice area to jog or ride a bike but I won't be back to fish there.  Too many other areas nearby where I don't have to walk through garbage.
