{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Snow Day prep for March 21st. Tying event

Very nice Terry -- that's one type of fly I don't have any experience tying.  I noticed your hook gap to popper body ratio looks good.   

I usually buy booglebugs or Walt's poppers.  I like both kinds and have caught a lot of fish on them, but I think in terms of straight durability I get more life out of the booglebugs.  With the Walt's poppers I tend to get bodies breaking loose and rotating on the hook after a while.  They're also a lot cheaper than booglebugs, so I think both are a good buy.  

I had one popper from some "multi fly kit" that had the hook gap too close to the body and you couldn't hook fish with it!
