Sorry to leave you guys hanging. Yes that's from the Rapp. She was running at perfect level and color so I had to try. My earliest shadin last years was April 2 and really thought it would be more casting practice than fishing. I just hope this cold rain doesn't mess it up for a while.
I got three fish, but I saw all of the strikes just as I felt them. I've noticed this before in the past, but generally late in the season when it's really warm. Do you think these first active fish were holding higher in the water column or were they way below my fly, shot upward, and I saw the flash just as they took the fly? I'm leaning towards the latter.
