{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Thanksgiving Salmon River steelhead

The family made the drive last wednesday to Altmar in the snow right before Thanksgiving.  The drive was good up until Harrisburg and it got pretty nasty until we passed Binghamton.  Anyway, we took it easy and all made it safely to Altmar.  The weather forcast was also calling for up to 3 feet of lake effect snow but luckily, Altmar only ended up getting about 6 or 7 inches.  The guys hit the river thrusday morning while the ladies stayed back in the cabin to make Thanksgiving dinner so we got to fish and came back to Thanksgiving dinner...doesn't get much better than that!  Overall, the fishing was pretty good on egg patterns and we landed a total of 9 fish in a couple of days including two that were pushing 15 pounds!  We also saw a beautiful coho landed.  I guess there are still a few of those around.  As always, we had a great time and can't wait to get back there again!
