I believe they are considered type 5. Those did not belong to me personally, wasn't aware of that rule while I was up there. There is a section of stream that doesnt need life vest, and a part of stream that does. I mainly fished the section where they were not needed when I was alone, with the guide we fished where the use of them was sort of up in the air. Ones I do own that I like are by Mustang.
