I've put in at Dam 4 upstream of Shepherdstown, WV and floated down to Princess St Boat launch. Great short float. Smallies and I've  heard tell of some Walleye in the river there. You can probably float all the way down to Harper's Ferry and take out there if you desire.

Requirements: Within 1.5 hours of Bethesda, where I live. Mostly non-technical water (under class 3) or portageable. All of us have whitewater experience, but we're not going to have the boats for a real rapid. Other than that, we're open to trying any and all possibilities. Smallmouth are the target species. Not super interested in trout fishing this time of year, but would be open to the possibility for walleye, musky, or whatever.
