I've gone out to Rock Creek a few times a year for the last three years in search of the "the elusive Rock Creek shad" - have not seen or caught one - only schools of herring. My best Rock Creek spring fish was a small (12-inch) striper up around the P St. bridge.BrianOn Sat, Apr 18, 2020 at 5:43 PM Lane Smith <jlane...@gmail.com> wrote:I've only ever seen herring in Rock creek. Tossing Shad darts to them never bore fruit. For years, I fished around the mouth for Shad, but never caught one. It's a tough area to back cast because of all the vegetation, so I was never able to cast out that far into the Potomac.
