I have no direct experience with it, but there's a railroad bridge with structure about 250 feet from the kayak launch that looks interesting. Protected (calm) water, very quiet. Google it… $7 access fee. I believe more if you're launching a powerboat or sailboat.

Mason Neck is open for day use.  We went the weekend before Easter and it was fine.  People were social distancing well (except for one group).  It was getting a little busy around 3 pm on Saturday, but was good for a hike or a paddle.
