Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Any idea whether the Jackson might fish well this weekend?

I've had a few mid-air hooksets, too.

Anybody else insane enough to go for trout this weekend? PM me if you want to venture forth together.

That's why its called fly fishing. I actually had a fish jump out of the water and hit my bug before it landed.

I'll warn you that I have not taken my meds today, but how do you catch big rainbows when casting above a lake?

Hi everyone,

With the slightly-warmer-than-freezing temps expected over this coming three day weekend, I'm considering venturing farther away than normal to fish, and am considering the Jackson.

Any idea if it would be worth the drive this time of year? I've read that you can catch big bows above the lake in the winter/early spring, although it might be too early for that. If I do go, should I instead focus on the tailwater section? Are there any online resources or fly shops you know of that are particularly knowledgeable about the Jackson? Maybe Abermarle Angler?
