{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Well, there's a bruiser.

Sent a PM -- most everything was on a super-sharp hook (I touch-up my hooks with a file before fishing them so they're so sharp they're almost guaranteed to stick the fish), small lead eyes, and a 3" piece of black rabbit strip *punched* onto the hook (so it won't foul).  I love that pattern -- easy to see on the tan-colored sediment bottom and about as simple as it gets.  I fully believe carp will take anything if you can get it to the bottom, without spooking them, and you can see the fly on the bottom. That's the only way I know how to catch them with fly gear anyway --

I don't get many because I either can't see the bottom, or they just aren't there.  Bait is a lot easier, but not quite as fun and it leaves nasty stuff all over the cork.
