Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Tidal Basin Night Fishing

cant say ive flyfished much past dark.  But spinner fishing with top water is great fun.  Just need noisy lures.  Im sure its the same with poppers on a fly rod, slow and loud.  Not as many hook ups as dusk, but it can be fun to hear big bass just smash the top of the water, wheather they miss or not.

How late were you out and activly catching? Curious if you have more success with streamers or nymph/poppers after dark?  My guess would be streamers.  Were there areas that you found more productive at night.  I tend to fish there until it gets dark however I am interested if it is worth staying out later.
