Grants, permits, construction start expected soon|
Dear Daniel, We have made much progress in the last several months toward our project to establish the first fully-accessible river access point in the DC metro area. Here are the key milestones that we have reached: - We were recently awarded two grants totaling $148K, bringing us very close to full funding (see details)
- An important and required step, our environmental assessment and application for categorical exclusion under the National Environmental Policy Act has been reviewed by federal agencies and approved (NEPA documents available here)
- All permit applications are in, and final construction plans have been submitted
- We anticipate construction starting in early 2024!
As of this writing, our project funding stands at $482,764, just shy of the $500K funding goal. Help us close the gap on Giving Tuesday, November 28 -- donate and spread the word!
Thank you for your support and stewardship at lower Four Mile Run, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Sincerely,
Kurt Moser President
